What's NEW in Free Twitter Designer Version 2.0?

We've been working hard! Here is a list of some of the additions and changes in our second release of Free Twitter Designer:

  • Twitter API integration allows you to "Sign in with Twitter" and will send the image you've created straight to Twitter (or you can opt to save and upload yourself the old school way)
  • Updated layout to include more tools and movable toolbars
  • More themes & shapes
  • New color picker that allows you to type in the color hex code
  • Resolution Preview allows you to select and preview the resolution you'd like to design for
How do I upload my new background image into Twitter?

There are two way to load your new background image:

  1. "SIGN IN WITH TWITTER" - If you chose to sign in with your Twitter account, you simply need to "Generate Image" >> "Export to Twitter". Then, log in to your Twitter account to see the updated image!
  2. "USE WITHOUT SIGNING IN" - After you've saved the image you created to your computer, login to your Twitter account and click "Settings" >> click "Design" >> Select "Change Background Image" >> Upload your image.
Why aren't the colors I put into the Twitter Overlay showing up on my Twitter Profile?

Those colors are separate from the background image you are creating and must be updated independently. While Free Twitter Designer lets you change those colors so you can see how it will match your background, you will need to input each color individually into your Twitter.com settings to make sure your Twitter profile is updated correctly.

Does FreeTwitterDesigner.com save the images I upload or the backgrounds I create?

Nope. Everything is yours, and we save nothing. Which is why you probably don't want to close the browser window with FreeTwitterDesigner.com until you have uploaded your image into Twitter and are completely happy with your background. Once you close that browser window, all of your work on FreeTwitterDesigner.com will be lost.

Why won't my image upload?

Most likely, it's either too large or in the wrong format. Make sure they are under 2 mb and in one of the following formats: .jpg, .png, .gif

It could also be an issue with Twitter. Other users have been experiencing upload image issues, and there are several open forums on this discussion. The latest indicates that Twitter is working on things, but it is not yet completely fixed: http://help.twitter.com/forums/31935/entries/39510

I just finished designing, but why can't I save my Twitter background to my computer?

Our application requires you to run Flash 10. Download it here: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

There are also some issues in the way Flash 10 saves images in Windows, and in particular, on Vista machines. If this applies to you and you find you have difficulty saving your image with an extension, please try the following:

  1. Make the extension appear - Go to the Start Menu >> Go to "Control Panel" >> Click on "Folder Options" >> Click on "View" >> UN-check the option "Hide extensions for known file types"
  2. Saving - Select to save the image to you DESKTOP (make sure it's directed to your desktop and not a different folder)
